About David

David is an award-winning filmmaker originally from Hong Kong. He studied Theater/Drama and Journalism at University of Wisconsin - Madison before moving to Chicago to work for the advertising agency DDB as a media strategist. From there, he made the big move to Los Angeles to study filmmaking at Los Angeles Film School, focusing on writing and directing. In 2014, he wrote and directed his debut feature, Eat With Me, which premiered at Los Angeles Film Festival and has gone on to win awards around the world. (LA Film Festival - LA Muse Award Nominee, DisOrient Film Festival - Social Justice Award Winner, Florence Queer Film Festival - Best Feature Film, Atlanta Out On Film - Best Comedy Film & Best Actress) His other directing credits include short films Fresh Like Strawberries, The Boxer, Family Gathering and a series of consumer product commercials including Tittle Light LED Lamps and Spin-R watch winder.

As a professional film editor, David has worked on both narrative and documentary features, as well as music videos, commercials and trailers including narrative features like The Last Days of Capitalism, Eat With Me, The American Dream, August, and documentary feature Bodysex With Betty Dodson. David has also worked as a producer on feature films like Maybe Someday, S&M Sally, Eat With Me, The American Dream and Shimmer.

Currently, David is writing multiple TV pilots and feature films along with his writing/life partner Mark Neal.
