Hello from Tucson, AZ! I'm a former New Yorker and I’m here on Stage 32 to connect with other creatives and share the energy and excitement of bringing stories to life onscreen.
My short script, Dueling Watchers, is now in post-production. Shooting wrapped up in June. The director, Shanna Riker, has a gifted touch and was especially wonderful working with the kids in the cast.
The characters in the short were created for a feature script that has won many awards:
WINNER - Missouri Stories Scriptwriting Fellowship
FINALIST - Diverse Voices/Black Scripts Matter competition
TWICE a QF - Nicholl
2nd Rounder - Austin
QF - Stage 32's "Female Driven Screenwriting Contest"
QF - Palm Springs Diversity competition
Semifinalist - StoryPros
I also have been recognized recently for my TV pilot, "Ever, Oscar" with QF honors from Emerging Screenwriters/Sci-Fi and the Santa Barbara Int'l Screenwriting Competition.
And, one of my shorts, Delta Sugar, was selected as a Finalist by the Palm Springs Women in Film & TV competition.
To be recognized by these panels of industry professionals has been exciting and tremendously gratifying. Now I hope to succeed in establishing the right connections to take my other stories from script to screen.
Here in Tucson I am a founding member of the Old Pueblo Screenwriting Group and I served for two years as a competition judge for the “Contest of Contests.” I have studied screenwriting at NYU and at the University of Arizona. I am also one of the many writers who have been inspired by Robert McKee’s 3-day “Story” workshop and by Richard Walter’s class. In an online setting I have studied with Ela Thier and also with David Mamet, the Duffer Brothers, and Aaron Sorkin via Master Class.
I'm working on several things right now. For TV my current project is a heist script set in Paris that involves a bit of the supernatural. As a feature I have just finished an action adventure that is set in the beautiful Ozarks. For stage I am working on a script about women learning more about themselves as they shop for "the dress of their dreams."
I am really looking forward to connecting with other film loving creatives on this platform.
