D. A. Barney received his BFA in Film from The Ohio State University, where he specialized in writing and directing. During his time there, he won two, Best Short awards; one, Best Music Video; and a Best Director award - all for his scripts. Aside from his work at the university, his scripts have won eleven awards in competitions and film festivals around the world. His most decorated screenplay, ‘the token’ is the winner of the Gold Medal at the Charleston International Film Festival, the Silver Medal at the Worldfest Houston, and a quarter-finalist in Scriptapalooza. It is the semi-autobiographical account of his days as a part-time supervisor with UPS, dramatically enhanced with the real-life drug trafficking scandal of 2019. His latest projects have taken him into the world of television with the Sci-fi pilot, ‘Phantom X’ and the supernatural thriller, ‘The Bewitching of Camille’ - a pilot adapted from the first book of ‘The Wiccan Chronicles’ trilogy.
