About Johnn

I was born in Romania, in the 1990s. The first 14 years of my life were about the hot summers and spending hours biking through Bucharest, playing soccer, drinking soda, and eating ice cream. The winters, springs, and autumns were about waiting for summer. In 2011, I changed the scenery and attended the Orthodox Seminary. For the first two of the four high school years, I actually wanted to be priest. For the next two, I just carried through. In 12th grade, in 2015, I knew I wanted to make MOVIES. I had wanted to be a writer my whole life but it took me 18 years to identify the true nuance of my passion for stories.

Then, somehow I ended up doing a degree in Ancient History. I wrote a dissertation on Greek Tragedy I'm half half proud of, and I graduated in 2018 with Honours. Whatever that helps with.

Since I graduated, I've only been writing screenplays, reading about film, watching movies incessantly, and waiting patiently.

In 2022, I directed two short films. Kamikaze (2023) is a 44-minute adventure war drama which is awaiting results from festivals, and 6:45. February, a 14-minute thriller which is deep into postproduction.

I've also done fencing before, during, and after college and was pretty good at it, before I broke a tendon and quit forever. I've also done a bit of competitive chess, but the level in that field is too insanely high to talk about being any good.

On the writing side, I have completed four feature screenplays and a bout a dozen shorts. I am currently working on three more feature screenplays and a mini-series.
