About Maitha

Raised in the East, but trained in the West, I’m setting out to share my unique perspective of my region through my work. I’ve worked with diverse teams in Australia, the UK, and the UAE on multiple projects from short films to mini docu-series and TVCs, including my award-winning film ‘X’ and ‘Charlie’. I’ve was a speaker in TEDx talking about ‘Identity’ and am an advocate for mentoring and nurturing the youth in the entertainment industry. My work has been featured globally on many platforms and has garnered many notable awards and accolades, which have gone to be screened in over 40 festivals worldwide, winning 13 of them so far. Currently, I’m working on filming my first feature film while looking for development and production opportunities for my feature script, ‘Nour’, based on my multi-award-winning short of the same name, as well as my first TV series ‘Behind the Burqa’a.
