About Andrea

I'm Brazilian-Australian, a published author and an emerging screenwriter. I'm a former producer who worked in Brazilian soap operas, sitcoms, films, and shows/concerts. I also directed two TV shows. When I moved to Australia in 2007, I started from scratch again. While working with dogs (yes, I'm an animal lover), I also co-produced a short film and produced some film festivals until finally getting a job (an attachment as production coordinator) in the feature film I Am Mother, directed by Grant Sputore. While writing my second novel, I've been developing proof of concept films as a Get it Made X (GIMX) member of a screenwriting community-based in LA. My recent short film, Are You Here?, was shortlisted in the top ten in the Get it Made LA screenplay competition (2021), and my animation Manu The Spider was a semi-finalist at the Screencraft Animation Screenplay Competition (2021). I love good drama, which is my genre, although my animation is comedy. And I also love Pedro Almodovar.
