In his essay, “Why I Write,” George Orwell said that writing is an “exhausting struggle, like a long bout of some painful illness. One would never undertake such a thing if one were not driven on by some demon whom one can neither resist nor understand.” If Orwell is right, then I have been possessed my entire life. From the dirty South to the West Coast, my travels have not purged me of my passion for the pen, and I was bitten by the bug to write since childhood. I tell stories not because I want to tell them but because I have to. I tell stories that are seldom heard and rarely revisited. The stories that we know exist, but no one has told them yet. My script is one such story that I learned about which clung to me until it poured out of me. It is these stories that I seek to share.
