Carleton Bluford

Carleton Bluford is an Actor/singer/Writer from North Ogden Utah. His mother, Dawn Bluford, is an actress and was a stand in for Della Reese on the tv show “Touched by an Angel” for years which gave him the opportunity to grow up on set traveling to multiple locations throughout Utah. This ultimately started his film acting career as he got his first speaking role ever on the show. Now he has been performing professionally for 26 years and is a member of S.A.G. and AEA. In the theater he has performed at Plan B theater company, Pioneer Theatre Company, Salt Lake Acting Company, and Hale Centre Theater Orem and West Valley. As a singer, he has sung with Luther Vandross, Natalie Cole, and Kristin Chenoweth and was invited to sing for the Mayor of Long Beach. He is the first African American playwright to ever have a world premiere of his play, “Mama” in the state of Utah which was performed at Plan B theater Company and is now currently workshopping and produccing his new play, “The Clean-Up Project” with Plan B. He has also written a screenplay, “Cowboy” which his is working on getting produced. Being based out of Utah, he has done many roles in film there, but now living in LA, he is excited to announce that he has recently booked his first LA Co-star role as Seth on “The Conners”. Growing up as an African American in Utah has informed Carleton in many ways. Fitting into a stereotype does not fit him in the slightest and he firmly believes that everyone should be able to express themselves however they see fit. The day is coming when a black man and a black woman can be the leads in a film and it not be considered, “a black movie” just for black people, it will be a story about…people. And he wants very much to be a part creating that narrative.
