About The Neck Road Productions Team:
A former deep-sea fisherman, award-winning screenwriter, and novelist, Richard has over three dozen awards to his credit and has had previous work optioned. Richard’s fishing and writing career began at the early age of fourteen, where he eventually parlayed his sixteen-foot skiff into a fleet of hundred-foot offshore lobster vessels. At the time, he was the youngest fisherman in New England to venture as far out as the Continental Shelf, a no-man’s land of profitable yet risky opportunity. On those high seas, Richard battled competitive fishing fleets, winter nor’easters, and very cranky crews. At a very young age, Suzanne and Renee were inspired by their father’s passion for the written word and the big screen. While pursuing their careers in the private sector, they remained their father’s harshest critics, collaborators, and editors. Recognizing his daughters' generational and diverse perspectives to his work, a more formal partnership was born. As a creative team, they have focused on adapting several bodies of work perfect for today’s streaming platforms.
The inspiration for this project, Broken Branch, came about from the cross-pollination of several themes including Darwin’s Origin of Species, Native American history and legends, and an iteration of the art of Henry Fuseli’s “The Nightmare.”
