"In biology, exception is the rule!" I'm a writer, with a focus on biomedical themes, including TV shows and movies. My writing is inspired by my work as an epidemiologist, biotechnologist, and physician. My storytelling has the heart of Khaled Hosseini, with the high concept of Michael Crichton. I strive to tell stories about unsung heroes, such as epidemiologists, physicians, and scientists from underrepresented minorities.
I create stories related to health disparities based on geography, disabilities, genetic makeup, gender, race, sexual orientation, and gender identity. These stories draw from my work in cancer and infectious diseases health disparities, as well as my travels to remote parts of the world as a global health epidemiologist with the CDC. My background in visual arts and poetry allows me to weave visually intricate and evocative stories.
Unique traits: Have a deep understanding of my subject matter (biotech and biomedical themes), with a focus on disparities based on geography, disabilities, genetic makeup, gender, race, sexual orientation, and gender identity.
