Growing Up Crazy Budget: $5M - $10M | Historical ⋄ Drama NICHOLL QUARTERFINALIST. When a mother becomes hyperemotional after her latest child is born, her husband commits her to an insane asylum. Their horrified teenage daughter knows her mother isn't mentally ill. To free her mom from the asylum and its medically dubious treatments before they drive her crazy, the shy girl must battle the callous medical staff; her hard-hearted father; and an uncaring community, while trying to preserve her own sanity. (This 1960s story was inspired by my own mother's experience.)
