Cyn Harris (aka Cindy Friedl) began her career in entertainment as an actress, with credits ranging from Henry Jaglom’s Babyfever to Fox’s Doogie Hauser, MD to Shakespeare Festival LA’s As You Like It with Rita Wilson. Her favorite gig was the four-person play, Brooklyn Laundry, directed by James L. Brooks and starring Glenn Close, Woody Harrelson, and Laura Dern.
Cyn then moved into screenwriting, penning the short film Sea Life, which played at the Sundance Film Festival and many more, including Paris, Toronto, Montreal, and St. Petersburg, Russia. Sequences from Sea Life were featured in HBO’s Entourage, referred to as “The film directed by a genius,” and its striking images were used in promotions for the Sundance Channel.
Currently, Cyn’s full-length feature script Big Girl recently won the LGBT Toronto Screenplay Festival. It is currently or was pending as a semifinalist at BlueCat , ScreenCraft , LA International, ISA Gender Busting screenplay competitions and is in the top 25 of Save the Cat screenplay competition and others.
