About Simone

Simone Gerber is a queer, Jewish writer who loves to explore complex social issues through storytelling. Thanks to a psychology degree and an obsessive need to create, Simone might know her characters better than she knows herself; her screenplays regularly receive praise as readers fall in love with the raw humanity of the people she puts on the page. Simone is a graduate of Northwestern University and recently served as a writer's assistant for an in-production Balcony 9 project. Her recent accolades include semifinalist at the 2023 Austin Film Festival, short script finalist in the 2023 California Women's Film Festival, and finalist in the Stage32 Diversity Springboard Contest.
