About Luke

Luke Harris is a writer and actor, but he didn't used to be. He spent his formative years in a multicultural household (he was raised speaking both Spanish and English) that moved countries six times before he turned 18. The wanderlust stuck. He dropped out of college twice, to his grandmother's eternal chagrin, opting instead to learn camerawork by crewing low-budget cannibal movies in Brazil and traveling. Since then, he's been a Netflix Creative, a smuggler in New York City, a humanitarian aid worker in Northern India and post-Katrina New Orleans, and a soldier with the 426th Civil Affairs Battalion (Airborne), living by the guiding principle that whatever decision would make the best chapter for his memoirs was the one he'd make. In fact, he did everything he could not to be a creative multi-hyphenate but, by his own admission, he's a much better writer than he is a soldier. He currently resides in his hometown of Los Angeles with his dog, Hudson.

Television Global Live Producer During the pandemic, the format of the show changed a bit from having people live in the studio, to a Live-To-Air platform with contestants all over the world. I produced all of the live segments -- 20 magicians in 15 countries (per season), all with different technical capabilities and resources, as well as celebrity guests. I made sure that every frame, from background to lighting to camera quality to bit rate, was broadcast quality -- a friend on the show said it was like defusing a bomb on Skype, with somebody else's hands, from 3000 miles away. I'd be inclined to agree.
