Writing was simply a question of following her way along the path that destiny had selected for her. Her ability to write is the natural result of a fascination for storytelling. Kiki would forge stories into-written chains that would captivate those who followed them as well as inspire them to accomplish goals for a cause in which all writers alike believe. Her intent is to inspire and become more of a productive writer by incorporating the elements of a true writer, to capture the audience’s attention completely and practice applying the analyzed components of her own style to communicate her work. In her writings, Kiki encodes her fears, hopes, desires and needs into words that are spoken and written symbols of a cultural network of understanding and possessing significance for those reading and listening to them. Most of all, Kiki wishes to clarify her thoughts, define her intentions and acquire knowledge to satisfy her emotional hunger, and most importantly, to reach established goals.
Born Alkini Lauderdale also known as Kiki she was always entertaining family and friends with her many talents and gifts. As a child Kiki loved reading, writing and music so she knew early on that She had a passion for the arts. It wasn't until The sixth grade that Kiki started getting noticed from her writing skills when she wrote for the school's newspaper in her journalism class excelling and seeing her work in the paper all around the school. After high school Kiki was noticed for singing and writing music collaborating with several producers and studios making music and traveling to perform her music. kiki joined competitions for writing Poetry in the national poetry Society where she received several awards even the editors choice award leading to some of her work being published in a book called Immortal verses a book of Poetry. After writing and producing and directing several short films that all placed in the film festival's she did well. Her projects include: “Live Fast and Die Young,” a movie for BET, written and directed by kiki, “The Messiah,” for the Actors Community Theater; “Love, Money, and Streets,” written and directed by Kiki, A Woman’s Weakness written by Alkini, Lead actor in “Harriet Tubman,” a one woman show, Death by Survival directed by Dori Salois and and Elizabeth Ruiz an award winning playwright. Kiki would also sing lead in the Hit stage play; Motown the Musical as Lead singer the legendary Diana Ross of the Supremes. Kiki’s musical background includes studio recording, live performances, lead vocals and the completion of her own CD project for the soundtrack of her movies. Educational background was focused in film and television production.
Kiki also worked for the actors community theater putting on several productions and getting first place in the Houston film Festival for a movie that she wrote entitled "Prey" also headlining the San Diego Union Tribune paper for a play that was on Broadway entitled "Death by Survival" A true story about the missing Argentina children, written directed by Elizabeth Ruise a known play-write from New York. After graduating college, raising two gifted daughters while working in the industry and living in several states. She now resides here on beautiful Galveston Island. The Founder and CEO of F.A.C.E-A which is the acronym for fighting against children enduring abuse in America. Kiki being a survivor of child abuse herself started this organization to help prevent other children from enduring abuse by telling her story in her latest work a true story about her life a play entitled" You can't hear hummingbirds" showing at the historical landmark in Galveston the "Old Central cultural center" Which won an award and making history at Old Central Cultural Center in Galveston, TX. On April 2nd, and April 3rd 2016, Alkini was in Los Angeles, CA at the Accelerated Radio Station talking on both the Ryder Paysinger Show and the Journey to Stardom Show talking about her up and coming film. Kiki latest projects are based on her true life story of surviving child abuse as well as the history of her ancestors the Lauderdale’s in America. Her latest work entitled ‘ You can’t be messy & blessed at the same time, is an animated cartoon with several episodes complete, the documentary I’m A Survivor no longer a Victim on Tubi, and theinterview on RokuTV.
