I love telling stories, whether I’m at a keyboard or behind a camera. Or at a campfire. Or in a notes app. Or with a pen … if I’m desperate.
Growing up in the Air Force, I introduced myself to new classmates at five different schools. I learned how to craft and hone my story so I could make friends quick before we moved again. I figured out that’s the best way to connect with people, and I carried that lesson with me to the Air Force.
At Moody Air Force Base, I produced over 115 videos (from storyboard to export), published over 500 photos, and authored numerous articles, social media posts and press releases. It was my job to use my skills as a camera operator, writer and video editor to highlight the Air Force mission and the men and women who make it happen.
In three years, I provided photo and video coverage of the 75th Commemoration of D-Day, search-and-rescue efforts in the wake of Hurricane Dorian, and the Air Force’s acquisition of a new combat rescue helicopter. I produced the video the first female chief master sergeant of the Air Force used in her first Facebook post and my imagery has been shown in senior leader briefs at the Pentagon level.
Now I'm pursuing a master's degree in film production at the University of New Orleans.
