Writer, Producer, Marketer Kelly Turner has been an organic champion for diversity, equity and inclusion in the entertainment industry for decades. She has created innovative and effective marketing campaigns for over 250 films and TV shows that feature and/or target underrepresented people, greatly impacting their chances for success in the marketplace.
As a Black and Asian-American woman, who has lived on both US coasts, she comes with a wealth of first-hand cultural and social knowledge. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Kelly received a business degree from USC and mentorship through Film Independent’s Project Involve. In 2002, she co-founded Vurv Inc., the first and only full-service creative advertising agency in the entertainment industry, owned and run by women of color.
Kelly is dedicated to the advancement of meaningful diversity in media. In addition to serving her marketing clients, she also tells universal stories through writing and producing documentaries that inspire cultural awareness and social change.
