Lou Sanz is a critically acclaimed writer/ performer and producer based in Melbourne whose credits include SBS’s Life Support, The Librarians and various publications both in Australia and overseas. She emerged onto the Melbourne comedy scene in 2008 when she was a national finalist in Raw Comedy. Since than Lou has become one of Australia's pre-eminent storytellers; receiving the Most Promising Debut Award for her show Dear Lou I Thought We Agreed Not to Talk About That (Comedy at Trades), as well as critical acclaim for her show Please Don't Use My Flannel for That ('a voice that deserves to be heard' - Helen Razor, The Age). In 2012 this was further cemented with Neverending Storage winning the Critics Choice Award at The Sydney Comedy Festival. She was listed as ‘one of the top 10 comedians to watch in 2012’ from the Sydney Morning Herald. In recent years Lou has taken a break from live performance to focus on her film writing. Lou is a graduate of AFTRS, having won a scholarship from Columbia TriStar and the Sony Foundation to complete a Masters in Screenwriting. She graduated with the Most Promising Writer Award and the Tobin Award for Most Significant Body of Work for an AFTRS Graduate. She has developed feature scripts via Screen Australia, Warp Films, Film Victoria and Alethea Jones (Winner Tropfest 2012) has become attached to direct her latest feature film project Girls Go By. She has also developed a cult following for her blog The Problematic World of Lou and has adapted it for television. Lou is currently writing her next storytelling show, getting ready for her podcast launch in early 2015 and is loving life on stage again.
