While earning a theater degree with an emphasis in writing from Mars Hill University in NC, Dean did a film internship at Earl Owensby Studios where he worked as a grip on his first Hollywood feature called "A Breed Apart".
Since that time Dean has gone on to be a part of seven features, serving in various roles including casting director, production coordinator, assistant director, unit production manager and writer.
He has also produced over 80 commercials, produced, written and directed 12 hour-long variety shows for youth called Fire By Night, 13 half hour episodes of a nationally syndicated gameshow called "Kids on the Move" and over 150 8-12 minute video segments (much like a Quibi would have been) for a children's curriculum entitled "The Zion 7 Report" and "The Master Mechanic".
