Jacquetta Farrar is an actress, host, educator, writer and community advocate based in Oakland, CA. She believes that the narration of the Black experience should be created and told by Black people. Jacquetta has hosted the Newark International Film Festival and the Newark Short Film Awards. She is a member of the Organization of Black Screenwriters, where she is working on completing her first screen pilot to pitch to network. Jacquetta has also worked with Yendor Theater Company, a black owned theater company based in Newark, NJ that works to not only bring free theater to the community but to also aims to mentor and employ youth actors. She can be seen in plays, feature films and shorts. Jacquetta is also writing her first book which is focused on her life story and her journey of healing herself through her mother’s healing.
