About Melvin
Graduated from Howard University in the nations capital with a degree in political science/pre-law. I have worked as a Producer, Production Manager, Production Coordinator, Assistant Director, and a host of other positions on films such as Night Falls On Manhattan, The Devil's Own, Ransom, Donnie Brasco, and Godzilla, just to name a few and I have had the honor of working under such acclaimed directors as Sidney Lumet (who was also my mentor), Martin Scorsese, Roland Emmerich, Mike Newell, Spike Lee and Ron Howard. My debut feature film, "King of Hearts" for York Entertainment received good reviews and set the tone for my approach to making movies. I followed up my next feature film with "Honeybee" for Artisan Entertainment starring the late James Avery and then " Miami Tail" for Lion's Gate Films. Among directing several award winning short films and hit television shows like "College Hill" on BET, and making my mark as a published fashion photographer and artist, I directed the 2013 Cannes International Film Festival short "While The Cats Away". I then produced my second Cannes International Film Festival short, "Life After Her "which premiered in 2017 and won a Best Actor Award at the Spain International Film Festival. I am currently producing the film "Knockout", the Vikki LaMotta story. In addition I am also in development on the original streaming cable drama series "Beauty Shot" along with Americas Next Top Model, Mame' Adjei about the modeling and fashion industry.
