About Natsuya

Natsuya Uesugi is a Fortune 500 Cybersecurity Analyst, UX Designer, Software Engineer and former White Hat Hacker who is also an Award-Winning Published Author and Indie Manga Artist. They have a BA degree in English, MBA in International Management, with an art school and music school background. With a certificate in Social Engineering, Natsuya writes articles and blogs on Net Neutrality, Privacy, Cybersecurity, Cyberbullying related to the profound impact of technology on society. Through writing and art they create to showcase and turn a spotlight on minority and intersectional characters in positions of power in an increasing complex technological landscape.

Of Mixed multi-cultural heritage, they see life through the lens of challenge, and systemic marginalization in a world where much needed dialogue is at times absent or coated in delicate double consciousness-veiled "uncurious" syrup. Using their pen to tell stories, their mission is to use their voice to bring visibility to those often silenced and point out critical threats and vulnerabilities pervasive in our collective security and technology infrastructure in a way everyone can understand. With a focus to bringing stories of empowerment, truth, triumph and hope against insurmountable odds to life through fiction, fantasy, written word, manga and animation, they focus on complex engaging narratives showcasing intersectional diverse characters to encourage LGBT, non-gender conforming, differently-abled, neuro-divergent young people to live their truth and dare to be their genuine selves. Through their multicultural lens, as a first-time filmmaker, Natsuya strives to create subtly provocative, diverse, real-world 2D animated films novels, manga and animated short films in realness and truth kicking up the a dialogue we need at this time to unify, heal and truly "Change the World."
