Hailing from the Southside of Chicago, Morgan Marie Robinson knew from a young age that she wanted to work at the circus. No really. It wasn’t until after some self reflection that she realized what she really wanted to do was make people laugh. Or cry. Or gasp. Evoking emotion from an audience was her ultimate goal. After years of writing short stories, poems and skits, and dabbling in creative writing and video classes in high school, Morgan decided to officially move forward with her passion for storytelling and majored in Film and Television, receiving her Bachelor's degree from Pacific Union College in 2016. Today, Morgan continues to write, diligently riding the struggle bus as she tries to navigate breaking into the industry. She explores themes that focus on the black, queer experience and hopes to create stories that will connect with this underrepresented audience. Comedy and drama are her go-to genres, but horror and animated films also sit close to her heart. She was a Quarter Finalist in the 2020 Slamdance Screenplay competition for her horror script “Electi”, and will be heading to Germany in February 2022 to begin the second season of a Television series for a small media company. She plans to move to LA in fall of 2023 and hopes to PA her way into a job (finger’s crossed).
