Hi!

My name's Morgan Alexandria Lawrence and I'm a writer from New Orleans, LA. My eccentric and vibrant city nurtured me as a writer, as it thrives on art and creativity. I graduated from Louisiana State University where I double majored in Creative Writing and Film & Media Studies. I have written, produced, and directed three short films. My thriller short, SMITTEN, recently screened at the 2021 Shockfest Film Festival. My current duties as Script Coordinator for CBS’s crime drama, S.W.A.T., trains me to excel in a high- volume, primetime production. My previous experience as a Writer’s Assistant then Script & Story Coordinator on the prolific daytime series, The Young and the Restless, prepared me for my primetime position today. I am thrilled to submit my fantasy pilot, Gated Communities to Black Girl Writes Mentorship Initiative with Stage 32. It will be a privilege to learn more from this widely respected platform. This mentorship program will challenge me to sharpen my creativity as an emerging Staff Writer, then guide me to develop my own original content as a future Showrunner.
