Philip Daniel

I am a composer with an eclectic command of styles from neo-Baroque to post-serialist–but whose natural individual musical idiom is highly chromatic and polyphonic, delicately treading the line between tonality and atonality, owing a great deal to the heated late romanticism and early modernism of the turn of the 20th century through the interwar period. My work ranges from cycles of chamber and chamber-orchestral ensemble pieces of massive scale to more intimate suites for keyboard instruments and choral works.
