I am a writer and have always written in various forms, but came to screenwriting by accident and being brutally honest, pure desperation. In 2012 following a separation, I completed a PGCE at the Institute of Education to convert my Science Degree into a teaching qualification but subsequently failed to make ends meet as a cover teacher. I was considering other strings to my bow when an actress friend declared my writing to be visually powerful and “filmic”. Over the next year I studied screenwriting online, from literature, from other screenplays and invested time on spec projects:

Selected to feature in other film festivals including Women’s Independent Film Festival 2016 and Lift-Off Global Network Sci-fi genre lab 2020 My writing has won me a chance to collaborate with top film professionals on major projects. My own favored genres are drama, action/adventure, and perhaps unusually for a woman, science fiction and fantasy. Frustrated by future predictions of dead high-tech worlds, where human arrogance suggests we shall somehow survive in the absence of natural food/water/air life support systems, I set out to write informed and timely sci-fi featuring a high-tech but also biodiverse future. My girl mag of choice is New Scientist. I am excited by and aspire to create emotionally engaging, intelligently crafted, original, visually beautiful stories that are unashamedly commercial.
Unique traits: Geek - girl mag of choice: new Scientist Online gamer Cosmos nerd - excited about the James Webb telescope and insights about exoplanets Geography science degree and a keen interest in human impacts on our planet and green tech going forward (a soft campaigner for green tech in my writing)
