Marilyn Birchfield, film and video Director and Producer from Venezuela was born on the island of Trinidad and Tobago to Venezuelan and North American parents. At an early age the family moved to the United States where she finished her formal education, receiving a Masters Degree (cum laude) in Mass Communication from Emerson College, Boston, Massachusetts.
Marilyn’s experience at Emerson brought her to an award-winning career as an independent director and producer in film and video in Venezuela, South America, and the Caribbean, where she has resided and worked ever since. She has now relocated to the USA.
Her first job after graduation was for CBS Sports during the Pan-American games in Caracas, Venezuela. After that she worked as Head of the video Department of one of Venezuela’s top oil companies: Corpoven. After a few years she decided to go independent and established her own production company Interamericana de Cine through which she has directed and produced numerous documentaries, films, shorts, and video clips.

Executive Producer for the feature film: Mecanicas Celestes. A Venezuelan and French co-production directed by famous Venezuelan filmmaker Fina Torres.
