Kevin Jesuino is a theatre deviser/ educator/ new media artist. He was the Artistic Director of New City Collective (2007-10), a Bangkok based multi-disciplinary performance art collective dedicated to physically devising theatre pieces for non-traditional theatre spaces.
He received his Theatre Arts diploma from Grant MacEwan University in Edmonton, Alberta in 2004. After four years of training in South East Asian theatre traditions, while at the same time producing and developing his work out of Bangkok, Thailand, he returned to Canada where he completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Performance (Performance Creation & Media Art) at the University of British Columbia’s Okanagan Campus.
Kevin is a published playwright for his collaborative creation “Grumplestock’s” (Stewart/ Lorenz/ Jesuino) and has received a Bangkok Bob Theatre Award for his directing of “Savage/Love” (Sheppard/Chaikin). He has featured solo and collaborative performances and new media visual installations in Canada, the United States of America, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany and Thailand and taught theatre creation workshops to all age levels in several of these countries.
Currently, Kevin has focused his research and development on the live body, interactive projection technology, graphic and video work, intervention theatre and living art/new media installation.
