By Caroline Spence

GENRE: Thriller
LOGLINE:

After taking a sabbatical from her high-profile job in London’s fashion industry, Samantha Rossi, rediscovers her inner drive in Southern Spain, and befriends a powerful businessman with disastrous consequences.

SYNOPSIS:

Following a near nervous breakdown, fashion public relations executive, Samantha Rossi, strikes up a friendship with Manolo, a charming international property realtor who persuades her to recharge her batteries in Andalucía, Spain.

Manolo loans Samantha a tranquil villa in the mountains, a temporary home where she embarks on a dream lifestyle far removed from the city office, and with his help, quickly settles into Spanish biorhythms and traditions. Inspired by Samantha’s impulsive move, her sexually-charged friend, Nancie, comes to visit. Nancie finds that Samantha’s drive and ambition has been rekindled by the international property industry... and has fallen in love with her villa and is determined to buy it.

Soon, however, a sequence of events of Samantha’s own making causes her world to spiral out of control, culminating in fractured relationships and a startling revelation that throws her journey of self-discovery onto a terrifying new trajectory.

Previously seduced by Andalucía's passion and culture, Samantha is now confronted by a nightmare as she unravels a sinister undercurrent of corruption and exploitation to which she unwittingly finds herself a victim. Determined to win back all she has lost, Samantha teams up with some unlikely allies and tracks her nemesis to a remote, highly-secure location where she is forced to fight for her life.

The "powerful and corrupt" portion is what weighs down this great Logline; one too many ands, one too many adjectives.
