Having abandoned his childhood dreams of becoming a children’s book illustrator, Calvin finds himself cycling through a mundane existence until his imaginary friend Toby returns to help him once again embrace the innocence of his lost youth.
SYNOPSIS:
Calvin Doster is stuck in the cyclical patterns of a bland and colorless lifestyle. Feeling a bit ostracized, Calvin works tirelessly as an illustration agent at a local firm, where he's overlooked and under appreciated. In the midst of his mundane life, he is unexpectedly visited by his childhood imaginary friend, Toby. With Toby’s help, Calvin learns to overcome his fear of change, and ventures into new and thrilling territory where he rediscovers his lost passion for art, as well as his gentle yearning for companionship.
Through scores of new adventures with Toby, Calvin reacquaints himself with an old high school friend now blossomed into a beautiful, successful young woman, Jesse Calloway. The two become close, as Jesse ignites the fires of inspiration in Calvin, pushing him to take the chances in life he never dared to before – both with those he loves, and with his career.
Calvin’s headlong leap into his newfound confidence comes with bumps and bruises along the way, but the young man learns what it means to go from being content to being satisfied. Toby stands by his estranged friend, eventually flipping the page of Calvin’s life from black and white to color.
