Michael R Lamarra

Michael Lamarra is a New York City based Cinematographer who travels far for his craft. He started his interest in video at the age of 12, learning the basics of lighting and editing from Philadelphia Photographer, Mike Allebach. He practiced controlling remote cameras, learning 2D/3D animation, and editing weddings all through school. He then continued his education into Narrative and Documentary at Hunter College, and made contacts in the Network News world where he refined his lighting and audio skills along with camera work. He now works full time as a cameraman for the major networks including ABC, NBC, CBS, alongside private clients like Deutsche Bank, Disney, and Maersk.

Michael also blends his camera work with his skills in outdoor adventure to capture the natural world and exciting exploration. He is an expanding outdoor Rock Climber and Mountaineer that looks to capture the questions: Why do humans choose to venture into the dangerous and harsh climates when there are so many available comforts?
