Adam Bialo was born in Czestochowa, Poland on December 20th 1981. A week before his father Krzysztof had been arrested and jailed for his involvement in the anti-Communist Solidarity movement. In 1987 Adam’s family escaped the turmoil in Poland and were welcomed into Canada as political refugees.
During high school he fell in love with the camera and filmmaking became a passion. This led to his acceptance to Sheridan’s film program where he focused on Directing and Writing and graduated with honours in 2003. That year he moved to Toronto and founded his own production company Kontakt Films and began taking on client work and also developing personal projects. One of these included the documentary The Price of Freedom: A Solidarity Story about his father’s life and the fall of the Communist regime in Poland, which was broadcast in Europe on Viasat TV.
With his production company taking off he focused on Directing and Producing hundreds of commercial, corporate, documentary, and music-based projects for different brands, agencies, and record labels in Toronto and across North America. The pandemic was a period of transition for Adam and now he has set his sights on transitioning back into narrative and documentary filmmaking. In recent years he has written two new features scripts called Northern Nights and True Summer, is working on a novel called True North, and developing a new documentary travels series called Friends In Far Places.
