About Karen

I have been in the business for over 35 years, starting in NY & moving to MA in 1981. I started in Still Photography (running the New Faces Division at Wilhelmina Models in NY) then producing & Studio Managing in Boston for various photographers. I took classes in Film & Commercial Production and opened my own production company with 2 other people. We did mostly corporate work for Digital, Wang & Data General. I started freelancing in 1990, production managing & line producing. A producer asked me if I could do both production and location managing on a Japanese commercial. I decided I liked Locations and have been doing mostly that since. I still produce small, second unit jobs, but prefer location managing & scouting given the choice. I work mostly in the northeast, but am comfortable working in other states as well.
