Victor A. Pollak, author and traveler, retired business lawyer, wrote the nonfiction book Saving the Light at Chartres: How the Great Cathedral and its Stained-Glass Treasures Were Rescued during World War II (Stackpole Books, 2020), which he is adapting to the screen. He is also writing a historical novel and a memoir. He divides his time between Arizona and Washington state.
Unique traits: Son of Holocaust survivor; now parent; grandfather, and widower after 44-year marriage. In college, served as film production sound technician, music studio recording engineer, radio station manager, mountaineering asst. instructor with Colorado Outward Bound School, and outdoor education teacher in New Hampshire. Practiced business law for several decades in private practice. Mid-life: took career gap from law practice to co-found and serve as CEO of investor-backed biomedical R&D startup company.
