As a native New Yorker, Weeda fell in love with writing at an early age. Classic Broadway plays influenced her passion for the arts, and she took advantage of the vibrant culture that was at her disposal. She quickly acknowledged her calling and moved forward to obtain a place in the art community.
Weeda's first love was writing plays until she encountered the art of screenwriting. It changed her life, and she finally knew what her gift to the world would be. Her screenplays are suspense dramas and woman-interest stories that glimpse the human soul, allowing each to capture the strength to persevere.
Weeda has also taken her passion a step further and created an inner-city community-based organization called The Kids Playhouse, Inc. Her objective is to assist children in gaining profound respect for others and eventually a burning desire for life, which she executes through improvisation and theater games.
From 2009 until now, Weeda has been The Executive Director and Creative Director for Safe Haven Academy, a girls' group home in Palm Coast, Florida. Her purpose for SHA is to take young, wounded souls and transform them into dynamic individuals through their artfulness. Weeda believes that a generation that acknowledges its creativity will consistently move forward.
