Read a Good Book Lately? : Story by Christian Cujovic

Story

In all my research on learning how to write screenplays "STORY" by Robert McKee was the book that stood out most by far.

In a very clear and practical way it illustrates how story structure works and how to apply it when writing.

Also it is enlightening as an actor because (in my opinion) acting does reverse the process of writing and vice versa. Therefore from whichever side you approach this process, this book will be useful.

I read it the first time some 15 years ago and from 2020 to 2021 another three times which helped immensely with writing a screenplay.

I have also read Jeseph Campbell, Christopher Vogler and other literature on the subject.

But "Story" gave me by far the most bang for the buck in terms of practical implementation.

In my humble opinion everyone in the industry should read this book!

I recently made a post about McKee's Story not so long ago. I'm glad that it's able to impact screenwriters everywhere.
