Stage 32’s founder and CEO, Richard “RB” Botto, shares two videos in today’s blog.
In the first video, acclaimed showrunner Glen Mazzara (“The Rookie,” “The Dark Tower”) discusses the challenges of being a screenwriter, advice for new writers, and the importance of including fun in a spec script.
In the second video, RB gives his best piece of advice to new filmmakers (screenwriters, actors, etc. can use it too).

Cool Maurice, good movie
That's actually the TV movie, Billy Kwack. Here's the movie with Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey: www.imdb.com/title/tt1648190/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0_tt_8_nm_0_q_the%2520dark...

It's not a TV series, Billy Kwack. It's a TV movie. I haven't seen it yet.
Amazon is making a "The Dark Tower" TV series though (and two more movies): www.menshealth.com/entertainment/a42189570/the-dark-tower-tv-series-amazon/

During the height of covid 2020-21 and show biz was shut down, GM publicly tweeted to read tv specs by newbies. One newbie is a friend of mine; GM read her spec, had 0 notes & passed the spec to a bigtime tv manager and in 3-4 months, she was staffed & joined the WGA.
Congratulations to your friend, Dan MaxXx! It pays to write an incredible spec and have an acclaimed showrunner pass it along, especially to a bigtime TV manager.
