Hi everyone, I am here to share the discouragement I get in the business of filmmaking. I have been Into film for years and it is now I have come to realize that making a film is no more a problem but the distribution. Can anyone please tell me something that can give me some relief and make me move on? Someone should please help me out. Thanks

Welcome to the club Faruku, distribution has always been a problem when you want to get your film released theatrically. But today, if you don't need to get theatrical distribution, you might not need a distributor at all and try to get your film on the different platforms yourself, you don't need a distributor for that.

Getting distribution is not the rocket science that people think it is. Everything will "sell" its the expectations that a film maker has that usually are the issue. Sometimes you can "sell" the project, but you won't see money. Many of the information out there via Google about selling your movie is a little skewed. Biggest piece of advice is READ THE CONTRACT. Know what you are getting into or hire someone that can do it for you.
