Introduce Yourself : Hey everyone by Stephen Folker

Stephen Folker

Hey everyone

've done this before—but figured I’d do it again.

My name is Stephen Folker, and I'm an independent filmmaker and producer based in Iowa.

I’ve been pursuing filmmaking since 2010, and it’s been my full-time gig for the past few years.

What sets me apart from other filmmakers is that I’m a bit of a jack-of-all-trades: producing, writing, directing, cinematography, sound, editing—you name it, I do it.

This year, I’m hoping to level up and take on some bigger projects. Last year, I had the privilege of receiving the Iowa Greenlight Grant from the Iowa Film Office for a docu-drama I’m currently developing.

I’m always happy to connect with others looking to get the ball rolling.

Sent you an add request.

Maurice Vaughan

Hey, Stephen Folker. Hope you're having a great week and spring! What project were you working on in the photo?

Stephen Folker

Hi Maurice Vaughan - it was a short film (period piece set in 40s) we did in black and white. Done now and off to festivals.

Maurice Vaughan

Hope the film does great at the festivals, Stephen Folker! I'm looking forward to seeing it!

Jaye Viner

Nebraska writer here. Great that you've been able to make filmmaking a full time thing!

Stephen Folker

Jaye Viner nice to meet another midwesterner. What do you like to write?

Jaye Viner

I write drama features and TV. I have a Legally Blonde meets Proof of Life feature I'm trying to get eyeballs on, and I'm developing a lower budget tech bro tries to biohack a disabled English teacher thing, no comps yet for obvious reasons.

Nancy Wilkinson

Hi Jaye, Just another screenwriter here in Omaha, working with a Table Read group that meets once a month. You’d be welcome to join us if interested.

Ousama Hijazi

Stephen hope you have all you films projects come true.

I'm a filmmaker from Istanbul, I totally understand the joy of being the jack of all trades as well, I try to be in every part in all the project making process, it's so much fun.
