Introduce Yourself : I'm back! by Trevor Chittick

Trevor Chittick

I'm back!

It's been awhile since I've been on here!

I got into screenwriting back in 2006 and joined Stage 32 shortly thereafter. I tried my hand at it for about 10 years, then switched gears and began writing novels (some of which were adaptations of screenplays I had written).

From 2016 to 2022 I wrote 4 novels and have been querying them (much like my screenplays). It's tough out there (much like screenwriting) and it certainly doesn't help when you either write something niche (satire) or something that is very competitive (YA). My ultimate dream would be to have one of my novels (or all of them, who am I kidding) optioned as a screenplay (which I could write) and see it up on the big screen.

Last year I decided I had to get my 'stuff' out there (finally), so I decided to go the indie publishing route. Although I'm still hopeful my writing will find a more traditional home, I have to move forward because life is too short.

I have lined up all my novels for release over the next 2 years. My first one is the satire White Rabbit: An American Satire. It's an absurdist, screwball, madcap satire of our current political climate.

No traditional publishing house would touch this, so I released it myself. My hope is that everyone will have as much fun reading it as I had writing it.

Welcome back, Trevor.

Welcome back, Trevor Chittick. Great to meet you. A lot of new things have been happening on Stage 32. AMAs, new Education (webinars, classes, and labs), the Stage 32 phone app, Stage 32 Certification, Genre Lounges in the Writers' Room, events, and probably other things I can't think of right now. Here's a blog that'll help you navigate the platform and tell you more about some of the new things going on: www.stage32.com/blog/how-to-successfully-navigate-the-stage-32-platform-...
