Hi! I'm Christine Doré Miller and have been using Stage32 for a while now to try and find a manager and/or producer :) I have two published dark drama YA novels (FORGIVEN ARE THE STARRY-EYED and its sequel AWAKENED ARE THE STARRY-EYED) and I've adapted FORGIVEN into a feature screenplay (I own full rights to any adaptation).
I work full-time as a marketing exec in the streaming world, but writing has always been a passion of mine and I was thrilled to get my novels published a few years ago. I believe strongly that they are meant for the screen, too! But I'm a total newb in the production space and figure that finding a manager is my best next step. Been having a hard time of that, though, on my own, so been sending some pitches here and would love to meet all of you! Looking through the other posts here, you all have such impressive resumes, and I look forward to learning from you how to navigate this scene.

You could search for a producer in the Browse Members section (www.stage32.com/people?name=&location=&roles=Producer).

Nick Phillips thank you!! Writing has been a passion for as long as I can remember :) but i decided to draft a full novel in 2016 and it was published in 2019. How about you?

Maurice Vaughan thank you for the tips!! I have scoured pro IMDb but it’s been a rough go - the vast majority of queries I’ve sent receive no response, a few come back as form letters about not accepting unsolicited submissions (even though I never send the script in my query - just the logline), and of the few read requests I did receive, they’ve since ghosted. I think it’s just really hard to break through with a cold query, you know? But I’m trying my hardest <3 been doing a lot of pitches on stage32 - almost all really positive feedback but then at the end still pass. I am having a hard time not getting discouraged, tbh. I won’t give up, though! How have you found it?

You're welcome, Christine Miller. Glad you got really positive feedback from the Pitch Sessions! Yeah, it can be really tough getting managers, producers, etc. to respond. One thing that helps me get replies to query emails is writing catchy subject lines.
I had a manager back in 2009-2010. The way I got signed was by networking and having a portfolio of work.
