Wanted to open up questions about the emerging field of independent television production. I have always loved film, but I just published a new article on indie TV development, which is quickly overtaking film as the commercial entry point into media for independent producers. What do you think? Are movies becoming one-offs? Check it out here: https://www.filmtvlaw.com/blog/2023/2/6/independent-television-development

Independent TV production is very interesting - I was always very impressed with how they did this for Alex Rider. Appreciate you sharing this article!

Thanks for the great insight, Brandon Blake! I didn't know much about paid packaging, and I wasn't aware of how the 2020-2021 WGA writers’ strike impacted things in the industry. I'm learning a lot from your AMAs and posts.

Amanda, Thanks for the question. Actually I remember back about 10 years ago I was working with a major production company in Hong Kong (worked on "Transformers"), and the producer mentioned that all over the world, limited series production was where it was at. So what seems to have happened over the past few years in the US was already the standard internationally for a while - Brandon Blake

Thanks, Brandon. Very informative & interesting. I am looking for representation for my TV adaptation of the 1st novel in my 8- book Dan Marlowe/Hampton Beach, NH Crime Series into a one-hour Pilot or Feature and other projects. Independent TV development sounds too rich for my blood, rough, unfortunately. Best, Jed.
