Producing : Dune - BTS by Geoff Hall

Dune - BTS

In light of me wandering to a cinema on Friday to see the release of Dune: 2, I thought I’d share this behind the scenes video from Dune: 1.

From Production Design, Costume Design, Sound Design, Stunt coordination and world-building of the story, I’m simply amazed at all the in-camera work too. This film just sings quality and yes even with a budget of around $165m there were still budgetary concerns.

Enjoy the mastery and talent on display in each department. Are you going to see Dune: 2 this weekend?

Amazing to see something of this scope and ambition come together.

Pat Alexander

Oh I'm going to see it alright! Can't wait :)

Geoff Hall

and the amount of respect they have for Christopher Nolan is immense. Love it!

Ashley Renee Smith

I'm excited to see part 2! I can't make it to the theater this weekend, but I'm hopeful to see it soon.

Sam Rivera

Very excited for Dune Part 2! It’s incredible what Part 1 did, I remember they won really all their nominated awards!

Maurice Vaughan

Thanks for the video, Geoff Hall. I'm gonna watch more of it later. It's incredible to see what goes on behind the scenes. What goes into making the movie, how the crew sets up the scenes, seeing the sets being built, etc.

I'm not seeing "Dune 2" this weekend. I need to check out the first one first.

Maurice Vaughan I saw it last night to a packed theatre. A great line in it was about Feyd-Rautha “…but he’s a psychopath.” To which the apparent line of reassurance was, “..that will not be a problem.” I had to laugh at that. There’s the subtlety of subtext going on in a lot of the dialogue, which I love. Maybe the rule of subtext is a case of “tell don’t show”?

When you see it, enjoy(!) and please let me know what you think. Personally, I was really excited a few hours before the show. I was dying to get there and I was NOT disappointed. I loved it. It’s not just a film, it’s a spectacle.

"Dune 2" sounds exciting, Geoff Hall. Ok, I'll let you know.

"Maybe the rule of subtext is a case of “tell don’t show”?" I see subtext like an onion. It has different layers.

Tucker Teague

I started watching it but then stopped. We have tickets for Wednesday. I don't want to see too much ahead of time.
