Three weeks ago, I was working on a sequel to my first novel, but something was plaguing me... a story I've had floating in the back of my mind for a few months. Last week, I outlined the new screenplay. Last night, I scripted the opening 6-page idea sequence to a new take on exorcism horror.
I have a couple of fans pretty excited for this next novel, but sometimes a story sinks its hooks in and won't let go!

I've been there, Steven Prouse. Sometimes I'll be working on a feature and I'll start writing a short script or something. It's a nice little break from my main project.

Lindbergh E Hollingsworth, the outline is pretty solid and the approach is different from most exorcism (Catholic) horror that I've seen, so I'm excited about it. My goal is to wrap the first draft by the end of the month.
And TOTALLY AGREE, this world needs more horror!

Definitely abide by your cravings, Steven Prouse. In some regards if your mind is distracted with something new then your planned work may suffer in quality. I say this assuming you're not under a paid deadline for your sequel :-)

I grew up in Columbia Steven Prouse and my dad owned the Forest Lake Exxon on the corner of Trenolm and Forest Drive where the burger joint is at now. Lived in Forest Acres. Great memories there and congratulations on your new novel!
