Collaborating with Someone's on a True Life Story

Friends, I'm stepping off into a new venture, collaborating with a non-writer person to develop/write a feature based on her life/interesting hobby. Really excited to get started, but to date the only life I've ever based a script on in my own, so if anyone has any tips or advice about crafting the true life story and/or collaborating smoothly, I am happy to hear them. Thanks!

Terri: I just wrote a biopic script about a living person who was in the news. There are a few things I recommend. 1. Make sure you have an written agreement with the person you're writing about. 2. Have that person provide you with whatever written materials, news clippings and weblinks they have about themselves and there activities and accomplishments. 3. I did an extensive telephone interview with my subject where she answered questions and filled in many areas I needed to write a compelling screenplay. I suggest that you do the same.
