Paul Zeidman

Hey writers! One week in, and...?

How are your 2020 projects coming along?

Ramsey Anderson

Still grinding on the re-write. Formatting, character arcs & impossible missions OH MY! LOL

Laura Crisp Davis

So far, so good. Writing a dark comedy, revising an adaptation, revising a book, and reading Oscar contender scripts. Basically, I'm not sleeping. LOL

PJ Edwards

Good! Planning another rewrite on one project before Nicholl deadline in April. Also outlining my next script to work on this year. That one is going to take a lot of research so happily taking my time on it.

Debbie Croysdale

Cool @Paul Scripts and funds getting stronger. Re first comment thread. The wheel of time grinds slow but when it grinds it grinds, so look forward to success.

T.L. Davis

Re-writing a political thriller not in my loglines, just punched up a novel I am marketing (104,000 words) and marketing another novel. Thinking about starting another screenplay.

Mike Romoth

You know, my 2020 project is to get back into the selling game after several years preparing to make a serious move into the game. This is my first night in a long while, but I'm starting a brand new gambit tonight locked and loaded from years of prep and living.

Jenny Masterton

My year of writing discipline. Tell you how it works out this time next year.

Roberto Dragonne

Great! Reviewing a TV pilot I just finished. I hope your projects are great as well.

Leona McDermott

Hi Paul, writing is going well, thanks. Finished another draft and been further brainstorming a couple of ideas. How's your writing going?

Carolyn Summer Quinn

They're coming along!

Paul Zeidman

Leona - thanks for asking. just wrapped a rewrite of a friend's 10-pager, so now it's back to work on revising the outline for a sci-fi adventure

Leona McDermott

Paul Zeidman I do love a good sci-fi film. Good luck on your revision.

Jim Boston

Paul, things are going fine thus far with my 2020 projects. This past Sunday, I finally got started on "Bleeding Gums," having written the first five pages of this comedy that centers on an Omaha math teacher's effort to fill a void in her all-girls' high school's activities by starting that school's very first jazz band.

Plus: I figured out the plot points for two more scripts I'm out to write this year: "Golden Oldies," where a phone call from a fellow former Iowa State University student triggers a librarian in modern-day Ames, IA to put her rock band back together; and "The Nutcrackers," about two ballerinas in present-day Kansas City who, after taking a look at life after ballet and at ex-dancer Vanessa Carlton's success in music, want to become blues musicians.

And: I'm trying to develop loglines for nine other screenplays...five of them not directly involving music.

Paul, all the VERY BEST to you this year and beyond!

Dan MaxXx

first week of the new decade and I got a read request for my $100M estimated budget action sci sample spec.

Hopefully the person requesting it will say I have potential to write their "John Wick" inspired ideas. Low-budget schlock, production in another country with cheap crew labor.

Dan Guardino

Dan M. I have my fingers crossed for you!

Jim Boston

Way to go, Dan MaxXx! All the VERY BEST to you!

Ruben Perez

On my 2nd revision and restructuring the arcs of my 5 screenplays.

Raymond Zachariasse

I added tidbits to my short, which I will produce in december. So enough time for some more research :)

Taylor C. Baker

Deep in the research phase of and 1860s western! Let's just say, I'm happy to be living in 2020 with certain "creature comforts" they did NOT have back in the day.

Tasha Lewis

Building my profile in Stage 32 to meet or exceed the recommendations of the Stage 32 Team and industry experts. I would like to create High Concept, Binge Worthy and Relatable Character projects that everyone would like to be a part of. My students in a previous business were of all ages and races. They gave me a view of what the world could be like if no one is left out.

T.L. Davis

Taylor C. Baker when thinking about those times, it's not hard to see where the idea of bringing flowers into the house came from. Perfume, either.

Michael L. Burris

Damnit my vision is still a wee off.

Oh you mean Year 2020?

Well... same, evolved, not quite circular but still driving for that vision maybe not perfect but perfect for those that need vision.

Nadia Carmon

My goal is to write about 2 short screenplays a month and I've been on task so far. Currently working on an Action script. I've been researching everything from blockchain criminal organizations to gender identity; As well as utilizing Dan Harmon's Story Circle & Blake Snyder's Beat Sheet for the first time. At the end of the current scene I'll be in Act 2.
