Screenwriting : Inspiration by Philip Singh

Inspiration

I am relatively new to screenwriting and I know each writer has their own type of inspiration that helps them keep writing and staying focus. What type of inspiration do you have to keep writing and focus on writing?

Adam S. MacPherson

Hey Phillip, Fledgling screenwriter here, just getting into writing, as you are. I have a few works, nothing sold but I have jumped in the deep end writing full length screenplays as first works. Immediate advise. Find your muse, YOUR source of inspiration and motivation. Doesn't matter whom, or what it is. Drugs, Alcohol, (my muse), a friend, a lover, loneliness, seclusion? Hell even family. Whatever keeps you going and makes you say with all confidence, "Fuck the day job, this is what I want to do, write".

Dan MaxXx

Seeing Steven spielberg's yacht in real life. Turning bullshit into reality and getting paid. I cant play professional sports but i can write "good" entertaining bullshit. Thats fine by me.

Izzibella Beau

I love how Dan Max always puts everything into perspective, brutally honest. He doesn't sugarcoat anything, tells it exactly how it is. Sure, we all want to get our story told, but what's the real reason behind it?

Steven Harris Anzelowitz

Sobriety and understanding that nothing is greater than an Idea whose time has come. Ask Edison or Jobs they knew.

David Taylor

I keep meaning to buy a silver color fountain pen and have it engraved with the words: "Who wields me wields the world." (Thanks Ray Bradbury - I love that short story 'The Scythe').
