Very handy tips Erik! Thank you for posting it to a lounge discussion as well. Sometimes it's hard to find the helpful content that you all produce here. I particularly liked the way you talked about incorporating feedback and making it a conversation. Often what I've read about pitching has made me worry that it's a one way stream and you either make it or break it. I'd much prefer a collaborative discussion about the elements of the story that they like and what they would want changed. Knowing that I could move toward clarity rather than just nodding quietly is motivating. Perhaps my counseling skills will come in handy.
