Hey guys, I've finished a screenplay but I want to get professional feedback on it before sending it out. Does anybody know of a good script consultant I could get for a reasonable price? Also, is hiring a script consultant the best option, or is there another option you could recommend? Thanks for your help!

I find it invaluable to get professional feedback before I market a script. I have learned much from the critiques and they spot things that I didn't see. Of course Stage32 coverage is great. I am also currently using Erick Mertz (erickmetrz@gmail.com) and have been very pleased with his professionalism and his insights.
Thanks, David. How would I go about getting Stage 32 coverage? And can I tell Erick Mertz that you recommended him?
Thanks, Kathryn.

Stage32 coverage is on the Happy Writers drop down menu. If you do choose to use Erick at some point, please do mention my name. I've worked with him on two projects. He is very easy to work with.
Okay, thanks, David.

Initially I'd recommend putting it up on your loglines page and let people look at it to provide feedback. you've just finished it, is it your first? Has anybody looked at it who isn't a friend or family member? Has it been proof read? Unless you're well and truly experienced, it's always worth getting free feedback initially before forking out money to paid coverage.

im happy to help over at No BullScript. have worked with a number of writers from Stage 32 and am fairly priced. happy to chat or answer any questions you may have.
Thanks, Pierre. You make a good point. It's not my first script. I've been writing for quite a while so I'm confident in my writing ability. I'm more concerned about plot, structure, character etc. But you're right. It might be a good idea to have some people read it before I get professional feedback. I just joined a screenwriters group in my city so perhaps they can help.

I'll put a plug in here for Pilar Alessandra, host of the On the Page podcast. She's usually booked out several months, so if you need someone now, look elsewhere. But she's wonderful. Personable, knowledgable, firm but kind… http://www.onthepage.tv
