Say your speaking with someone you know and they tell you a lie to make themselves look better, you are confused, then they explain the real reason and you're........ what is that look or emotion called?
If you're their friend, you might be embarrassed, wincing, or sympathetic. If you're their enemy, you might be glib. If you were pursuing them romantically, maybe you're mortified.
Good question. I would call it posing only because they admitted to the lie and told you their reason for lying. Hope this helps. I don't have any characters in my work that are posers. I have several that tell lies.
That really depends on the emotion you want your character to have and it could range anywhere from anger to elation, everyone is different, but don't tell us, show us what they are feeling through their subsequent actions.
I like both David's and Pierre's take. Why? Because as a writer, I depend on people thinking about what I want them to think. As a screenwriter, I want them to see what I am thinking about . Maybe I am just naïve. And we are indeed all different. Celebrate the differences in your art.

Perhaps dumbfounded, perplexed, insulted the person had to lie and not be honest. Just my two cents.
